The Story of Free Families Forward
Free Families Forward was formed July 21, 2011. Samantha Sloane Cole was looking for enriching things to do in her community with her children. There was nothing that fulfilled her family's needs. She was also longing to volunteer in her community. She then organized Toddler Time, a playgroup for children and their caregivers, at the Pine Plains Library.
That's where it all began. Samantha knew she found her calling. She had to form an organization that would restore a sense community in our world, town by town. She wanted to make it easier for people to volunteer in their communities by organizing for them. She wanted to have a symbiotic relationship with her contributors by advertising their contributions at the free events in which they participate. She wanted to help attendees meet people in their communities.
Free Families Forward was created to organize any free event for everyone in any community.
